Collect 1 dozen large worms
Toss 'em in a coffee can half full of wet corn meal.
After a day and a half they will have replaced all the dirt inside with golden corn.
Fry in oil.
Eat with hot sauce.
What you end up with is kind of like an inside out corn dog.

Worms
Deep beneath in my earthen keep I eat my way to bliss.
And what you find as dirt and grime is really my shit and piss.
I slink and slunk with mouth and butt all day I sweat and toil.
And all of this is not a whim for my true love is soil.
But when it rains...
When clouds shed blood...
When rivers break their banks...
The flood that comes it thins my blood and all the world turns rank.
I cannot dig...
My home a tomb...
I am exposed, alone.
And since I never learned to swim I shall make you my home.
